MEYER, Justice.
The defendant was charged in an indictment, proper in form, with on or about 4 January 1985 engaging in sexual intercourse with Dena Shackelford, a child under the age of thirteen. The State’s evidence tended to show that the defendant and his wife, Sandra, were married in August 1981.
