WALSH, Justice:
This is an appeal by the defendant, Stephen D. Crawford (“Crawford”), from a conviction in the Superior Court of murder in the first degree, as well as related charges of first degree arson and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Crawford contends that the trial court erred in refusing to suppress a statement made by him while in police custody after he had invoked his right to counsel.
