The record sufficiently shows, that at the time of the condemnation proceedings Luther C. Challis was the owner of lot 1, in block 23, in the city of Atchison. The perpetual use of this lot, or the north one hundred feet of the same, has been acquired by the company for the purpose of maintaining a union depot for the use of the railroads entering the city of Atchison, and for the convenience and accommodation of its citizens.
