G. V. Poole was a country merchant, doing business in the village of Ohatchie, Calhoun county. Ala., whose stock of goods consisted principally of groceries, shoes, notions, produce, and a small amount of hardware. His store, with its entire con-’ tents, was destroyed by fire, and he brought this suit against the London Assurance Corporation, with whom he was insured, to recover on the policy which covered the stock of goods.
