The issue in this workers’ compensation case is the extent of claimant’s permanent disability.
Claimant, who was then 53 years old, sustained a compensable injury to his lower back in September, 1973 while employed as a relief operator at Weyerhaeuser Company. He immediately sought medical treatment. A conservative treatment program for back strain was prescribed and, upon the recommendation of his orthopedist, claimant returned to work.
