At the conclusion of a marital dissolution action, Robert Nielsen was summarily sentenced to 7 days in jail for disobeying certain pretrial orders. The contemp tuous behavior occurred prior to trial and outside the court's presence. Mr. Nielsen challenges the trial court's authority to punish him summarily. Having found that Mr. Nielsen received inadequate notice and no meaningful opportunity to be heard, we reverse.
