Larry W. Schneckloth appeals from the district court’s denial of postconviction relief under Nebraska’s Postconviction Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 29-3001 etseq. (Reissue 1989). Schneckloth, contending that he was denied effective assistance of counsel in his direct appeal, State v. Schneckloth, Koger, and Heathman, 210 Neb. 144, 313 N.W.2d 438 (1981), claims that the district court should have held an evidentiary hearing on Schneckloth’s motion for postconviction relief.
