In this case we must determine whether a city may close a portion of a regional roadway that continues beyond its city limits. We conclude Vehicle Code section 21101, subdivision (f) 1 confers no such authority upon city government. This matter is before us on an appeal by the City of San Diego et al. (San Diego) of the trial court’s order granting a petition for writ of mandate (Code Civ. Proc., § 1085) and denying San Diego’s motion for new trial.
