The defendant, James DesLaurier, was convicted after a jury trial of assault in the second degree with a motor vehicle in violation of General Statutes § 53a-60d,1 and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor in violation of General Statutes § 14-227a.2 The defendant appealed from the judgment of conviction to the Appellate Court, which affirmed the judgment of the trial court.
