The defendant, Michael Bunker, appeals, following our grant of his petition for certification, from the judgment of the Appellate Court affirming *513his conviction of sale of narcotics in violation of General Statutes § 2 la-277 (a) and possession of narcotics in violation of General Statutes § 21a-279 (a).1 State v.
