An employee applied to the Industrial Commission for compensation for an injury caused by his “being burned on the back of the neck by steam and poisoned by ammonia gas” while in the service of his employer. He asked compensation for a temporary total disability. Pending this application the employee and employer entered into a written agreement of settlement by which the latter was to pay the former $12 weekly, beginning September 5, 1921, during disability.
