I. BACKGROUND

This is a putative class action lawsuit filed by nine named plaintiffs against Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc. (“MERS”) based on its actions in foreclosing upon mortgages in Florida. Plaintiffs seek relief under two Florida statutes, the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (“FCCPA”) (Count I) and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (“FDUTPA”) (Count II).
