This is a wrongful death and loss of consortium action brought by the plaintiff, Louisette G. Lagassey, individually and in her capacity as the executrix of the estate of Wilfred J. Lagassey (decedent), against the defendant, the state of Connecticut. On April 20, 2001, the plaintiff filed a two count complaint against the defendant for the death of her decedent husband, who had died as a result of a ruptured infra-renal abdominal aortic aneurysm while he was a patient at the University of Connecticut Health Center and John Dempsey Hospital (hospital) operated by the defendant.
