In response to concern with sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace, many companies, including defendant United Airlines, established procedures for reporting, investigating and resolving claims of gender-based misbehavior. One such complaint was lodged against Cynthia Ribando, who now contends that those very procedures instituted to combat harassment constituted gender-based harassment.
