IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE STATE OF KANSAS No. 118,790 In the Matter of J.P. SYLLABUS BY THE COURT In an extended-jurisdiction juvenile proceeding, the district court gives a juvenile offender both a juvenile sentence and an adult sentence. The adult sentence is stayed on the condition that the juvenile substantially comply with the terms of the juvenile sentence and not commit a new offense. But if one of those conditions is violated, the district court must impose the adult sentence.
