On February 12, 1943, the United States-grand jury at Kansas City, Missouri, in the-Western District of Missouri returned an indictment charging the Baker-Lockwood: *50Manufacturing Company, Inc., and certain individuals with having entered into a conspiracy to- defraud the United States in violation of section 37 of the Criminal! Code, 18 U.S.C.A. § 88.
