This appeal is from a judgment recovered by the respondent against the appellant in an action upon a promissory note, alleged in the complaint to have been executed by the appellant to the respondent on the 21st day of March, 1883, at Portland, Oregon, for the payment of $3,250, and interest and reasonable attorney’s fees, upon which he claims a balance of the sum of $1,600, for which he demanded judgment, with accruing interest and costs, including such attorney fee as the court should adjudge reasonable.
