This appeal involves a copyright infringement action against the composer and publisher of the highly successful popular song “Feelings,” brought by Louis Gaste, the composer of an obscure French song written nearly 17 years earlier. The appeal is from a judgment of the District Court for the Southern District of New York (William C. Conner, Judge), entered after a jury found defendants Morris Kaiserman and Fermata International Melodies, Inc. (“Fer-mata”) liable for copyright infringement.
