COFFEY, Circuit Judge.
On April 25, 1991,- a jury convicted Jose Soto (a.k.a. “Lazaro Sanchez”) of conspiracy to distribute cocaine in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1), as well as using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to the commission of a drug offense in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 924(c). 1 Judge Bua, the original trial judge, sentenced Soto to 138 months in prison, pursuant to the United States Sentencing Guidelines. 2 On Soto’s original appeal we affirmed his convictions but remanded for…
