This is a petitory. action in which the plaintiff claims title to a tract of land in the parish of St. Mary, at a place called Les Cotes, or Isles de la Petite Anse, surrounding other tracts of land belonging to different persons, and divided into several small tracts so as to contain together about five hundred and *519fifty-two acres, granted originally to Jacques Fontennette and Alexandre Bienvenu De Yince, and confirmed to the grantees by the United States.
