This suit was instituted by Cora L. Dowlen, as the next friend of her minor son, V. A. Dowlen, against the Texas Power & light Company and the Southwestern Telegraph & Telephone Company, two private corporations, to recover damages for personal injuries. It is alleged that on or about the 11th day of February, 1914, the minor plaintiff was injured as the result of a shock produced by an electric current received by coming in contact with a guy wire attached to one of the posts belonging to the telephone company in the city of Honey Grove.
