Cross-complainant Standard Oil Company of California (Standard) appeals from a judgment entered on a jury verdict denying recovery on its indemnity cross-complaint.
The Basic Case
The relevant facts disclose that respondent (Intrepid), a ship repair company, contracted with Standard, a shipowner, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Chevron Shipping Company (Chevron), to perform alteration and remodeling work aboard Standard’s vessels berthed at the Richmond Wharf.
