To the Honorable House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations:
We have received from the Honorable House of Representatives a resolution requesting, in accordance with article 10, section 3, of the Constitution of the State of Rhode Island, our written opinion regarding certain questions of law. These questions relate to the constitutionality of the pending House Resolution 93-H-7198. The resolution would amend section 1 of chapter 71 of the Public Laws of 1978 by the approval of new voting districts in the town of Lincoln and removal of current office…
