Plaintiff, the United States of America (the “United States”), brings this action pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e, et seq. (“Title VII”), against the City of New York (the “City”) and the NYC Department of Transportation (“DOT”). The United States alleges that Defendants engaged in a pattern or practice of discrimination on the basis of sex in hiring bridge painters.
