¶ 1. Owen Budd appeals from an order committing him to institutional care in a secure mental health facility on the finding that Budd is a sexually violent person under Wis. Stat. § 980.01(7) (2005-06). Budd contends that the trial court erred in excluding evidence that Budd would be on supervision if not committed under Wis. Stat. ch. 980, and in admitting evidence of the Department of Corrections' (DOC) screening process for selecting sex offenders for ch. 980 proceedings.
