OPINION

GARCIA, Judge.

{1} The State appeals a pretrial ruling by the district court excluding certain photographic evidence as hearsay. The State proposed to use the evidence to establish that Defendant was in possession and control of the northwest bedroom of his father’s home where methamphetamine was seized during a lawful search. Because the photographs of two telephone correspondence documents are relevant for a legitimate independent purpose that does not rely upon the truth of the statements contained therein, those photographs are not hearsay.
