Tong, and on his death revived in the name of his administrators, against the city of Richmond, to recover the value of-a slave, who it was alleged had lost his life through the carelessness and negligence of the agents of the city. It is usually unsafe and hazardous to seek to classify adjudicated cases upon any complex question of law, and to extract from them rules of general application.
