On July 23, 1937, the appellant, The Dalton Foundries, Incorporated, owned and operated a foundry in Warsaw, Indiana, in which the appellee, Arnold Jefferies, had been employed for approximately nine years, during which time he was continuously exposed to silica dust from the inhalation of which he became afflicted with silicosis in its secondary stage, and by reason thereof was discharged from his employment on the above date.
