MEMORANDUM OPINION Joseph Ames, a Maryland prisoner, filed a civil rights lawsuit pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. The suit arises from a serious assault committed against plaintiff by other inmates at Maryland Correctional Institution Jessup (“MCI-J”). ECF 1 (“Complaint”). Ames alleges that while he was housed at MCI-J, defendants failed to protect him from the assault, in which he was stabbed multiple times.
