In Anniston, Alabama, a small, tightly closed local union of motion picture operators sought to enforce its closed shop-policy by harassing the plaintiff into-quitting his job as a projectionist in a drive-in theatre. The plaintiff was a., member at large of the parent union.. Several times he had tried to join the-Local but its exclusive membership turned him down.
