Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Schenectady County (Tomlinson, J.), rendered July 24, 1996, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of unauthorized practice of law and petit larceny.

In November 1995, defendant, who had been an attorney in Honduras, was charged by the Attorney-General in a three-count indictment with the crimes of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, the unauthorized practice of law and petit larceny.
