Following a joint trial before a jury in the Circuit Court of St. Clair County, defendant and his co-defendant, Michael Bury, were convicted of delivering more than 30 grams of a substance containing cocaine in violation of section 401(a) (2) of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 56½, par. 1401(a)(2)).
