BRANCH, Justice.

We first consider whether plaintiff’s intestate was a farm laborer within the meaning of G.S. 97-13 (b), which provides, in relevant part: “This Article shall- not apply to . . . farm laborers. ...”

The “farm labor” exemption has generally received a more narrow interpretation than the exemption of “agricultural labor” from the definition of employment under the various Workmen’s Compensation Acts. 99 C.J.S.
