This is an action upon a life insurance policy issued by defendant company on February 21, 1907. The provisions of the policy sued on, so far as pertinent to the issues for decision here, are as follows:

"The John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company of Boston, Massachusetts, in consideration of . . . the premium of forty-five and 77/100 dollars, to be paid on or before the twenty-first day of February in each and every year, until the premiums for twenty full years shall have been paid, or until the prior decease of the insured, does insure the life of Robert A.
