DiPENTIMA, J.
In our review of this expedited petition arising from a civil action brought against the parents of a minor child, we address the application of § 11-20A of our rules of practice for the first time. In his petition, the plaintiff, Alfredo Vargas, challenges the *401order of the trial court allowing the use of pseudonyms by the defendants.1 We conclude that we have jurisdiction and grant the relief requested because the court failed to comply with the dictates of § 11-20A.2 We therefore vacate the court’s order permitting the defendants to proceed by use of pseudonyms and…
