John Katowski, who brings this 28 U.S.C. § 2254 petition pro se, was convicted on March 24, 1992, after a jury trial in New York State Supreme Court, Kings County (Juviler, J.), of one count of Robbery in the First Degree, in violation of N.Y.Penal Law § 160.15[2], Justice Juviler sentenced him as a second felony offender to a prison term of twelve and one-half to twenty-five years.
