In an action, inter alia, to recover damages for wrongful death, etc., the defendants appeal from an order of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Velasquez, J.), dated September 2, 2011, which denied their motion for summary judgment dismissing the complaint or, alternatively, pursuant to CFLR 3211 (a) (8) to dismiss the complaint insofar as asserted against the defend*615ants Lifeguard Ilienko and Lifeguard Ricardo Sewell for lack of personal jurisdiction, and pursuant to CPLR 3215 (c) to dismiss the complaint insofar as asserted against the defendant Detective James O’Malley as abandoned.
