Defendant was charged with assault with intent to murder, 1 carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, 2 and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. 3 He was convicted by a jury of the lesser offense of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, 4 as well as carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and fel ony-firearm.
