¶ 1 In this case we decide whether a deaf mute driver has a right to a certified interpreter at a DUI checkpoint before he may be asked to perform field sobriety tests. We hold that he does not, and affirm the judgment of sentence.

¶ 2 Appellant John Robert Robinson was driving on Seventh Avenue in the city of Altoona between midnight and 1:30 A.M. when he encountered a sobriety checkpoint. A police officer stopped him and noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and he had a strong odor of alcohol about him.
