Appeal from Cedar District Court. — Hon. J. H. Peeston, Judge. Action to recover damages resulting from the death of H. P. Ford. Trial to jury. Verdict and judgment for plaintiff. Defendant appeals.

I. Plaintiff’s intestate, H. P. Ford, was, on and prior to December 13, 1890, employed by the defendant as a yard switchman and brakeman in its yards at West Liberty, Iowa. He had been in defendant’s employ for over five years, though he had been engaged in this yard service for only three months prior to his death. He was forty-five years old, of good habits and character; and hadbeen recently married. He was earning forty-five dollars per month.
