The question presented is whether it is unfair competition for an insurance agent to use his former employer’s customer lists to direct clients to the agent’s new insurance agency.
A jury found that the defendant, Jack Hosch, had unfairly used confidential information to compete with the plaintiff, Corroon & Black-Rutters & Roberts, Inc. The court of appeals reversed and remanded for judgment notwithstanding the verdict, holding that the verdict was not supported by credible evidence and was contrary to public policy.
