This is an appeal and cross-appeal in a complex lawsuit in which Hamilton County landowners 1 sought to recover damages from Rumpke Sanitary Landfill, Inc., the Board of County Commissioners of Hamilton County, Ohio, and others related to the operation of a landfill near their property. The jury which heard most of the case returned a verdict for defendants. The trial court, however, decided in favor of plaintiffs on the one count contained in their complaint that was submitted to the court for decision and awarded them some attorney fees and costs.
