The State charged appellant, B.J. Franklin, with aggravated sexual assault of a child. See Tex. Penal Code § 22.021. Appellant pleaded not guilty to the offense. A jury convicted appellant of this offense, however, and sentenced him to life imprisonment in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
