JACOBS, Justice:

The plaintiffs-below appellants, Victoria Nava Cantinea, Oscar Gonzales and Fernando Ladrillero Flores, appeal from an order of the Superior Court granting defendant’s motion for summary judgment and dismissing this action. The sole issue, which is one of statutory interpretation and of first impression, is whether in a civil action for negligence, 16 Del. C. § 6636 bars evidence of conduct that is claimed to constitute a violation of a county ordinance and, as a consequence, negligence per se.
