The jury found the defendant guilty of the crime of rape in the first degree in violation of § 53a-72 (a) (1) of the Penal Code, and of burglary in the third degree in violation of § 53a-103 of the Penal Code. The defendant moved to set the verdict aside, claiming it was contrary to law and against the evidence.
