Hart, J.,

(after stating the facts). It is earnestly insisted by counsel for appellant that the chancellor erred in holding that the property in question belonged to the State and, on that account, was not subject to the auctioneer ’s tax under the provisions of the statute referred to in our statement of facts. We cannot agree with counsel in this contention. It is well settled that a State may acquire real or personal property by conveyance, gift or otherwise, and sell or dispose of it as it sees fit. 36 Cyc. 869, and 25 R. C. L., p. 388, § 21.
