Travis Paul, a company airplane pilot, brought this suit against Petroleum Equipment Tools Co., his former employer, seeking overtime pay allegedly due under the Fair Labor Standards Act. 29 U.S.C. §§ 201-219. After a bench trial, the district court concluded that Paul was employed in a bona fide professional capacity within the meaning of 29 U.S.C. § 213(a)(1) and its regulations and therefore was exempt from the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
