This suit was brought in the District Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Michigan, by the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division, United States Department of Labor, to enjoin petitioners from violating the maximum hours provisions* 1 of the Fair Labor *465Standards Act of 1938. 52 Stat. 1060, 29 U. S. C. § 201, et seq.
