¶ This is a review of a published decision of the court of appeals, State v. Burris, 2002 WI App 262, 258 Wis. 2d 454, 654 N.W.2d 866, which affirmed the circuit court's revocation of petitioner's supervised release under Wis. Stat. ch. 980 (1997-98).1 The principal issue presented is whether a circuit court is required to expressly consider alternatives to revocation before revoking a sexually violent person's supervised release when the court makes a determination that "the safety of the public requires [the person's] commitment to a secure facility."
