After more than five years with one of the defendants, UAP/GA AG CHEM., INC. (“UAP/GA”), 1 the plaintiff, Denise Childree, was terminated from her employment. Her termination occurred approximately one week after she testified in an administrative hearing before the Department of Agriculture (the “DOA”), about a suspected fraudulent billing scheme allegedly used by a customer of UAP/GA, Varner Bass Enterprises, Inc., to bilk money out of the United States government.
